I designed the 30BB strategy by simply modifying the 20BB strategy that I found here:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKc1D4hlL2I
Since most poker sites raised their limit to 30BB to discourage short-stacking, it was largely abandoned. But I modified it by widening the range to allow for a bit of bluffiness and by adding a range for calling. Both the old and the new strategies consist - other than very specific spots - of always either raising or folding.
This is the default strategy that fits on one-sheet:
(a much handier version can be downloaded for free here)
Pre-flop
No Raise or One Minraise (% of Hands)
Percentages by Flopzilla
Early Position (UTG,UTG1):
AA – TT, AK-AQ 4.68%
Middle Position (MP1-HJ):
AA – TT, AK – AJ, KQ 7.09%
Late Position (Button, Cutoff, Blinds):
AA – 22, AK – AJ, AT-A2s, KQ, QJs - JTs,* 14.0%
Raise 4XBB + limpers X 1BB
If Reraised
Shove AA – TT, AK 3.47%
One Raise Before You
3bet 3X or shove AA – TT, AK-AQ, 4.68%
Call AJ, KQ on button or big blind against 2.41%
single 2-3X raise.
One Raise, one Reraise Before You
Shove AA – KK .90%
*AA-TT = pair of aces through pair of tens
AT-A2s = ace-ten suited through ace-two suited
QJs – JTs = queen-jack suited through jack-ten suited.
Post-flop Play
Overpair or TP+ * Bet 75% pot or shove
Strong draw Bet 75% or shove
2nd or Middle Pair (Hds Up) Bet 50%
Two over-cards (Hds Up) Bet 50%
Paired or monotone flop (Hds Up) Bluff 50%
Miss/weak draw Check-fold
Turn/River
OP, TP, Strong Draw Bet 75% pot or shove
Previous street checked through Bet 50% pot any # Op
Under 20BB
Get stack in pre-flop with AK-AJ, KQ, and all pairs (all positions)
Sit Out Next BB then Cash out/ rebuy when
Stack is over 50BB (Only Play AA-KK)
One hour and stack still between 20BB and 50BB
Table has less than 6 players (Can wait if table good)
*TP+ = Top pair or better
Monotone flop = all one suit (not all one color)
Let me know what you think!
